Common Turquoise
Common Turquoise
This organization was formed as a way to unite artists across the US through a series of stories made to inspire, explore commonalities, and discuss the create drive. The founder of Common Turquoise wanted to create an emblem that referenced antique hand-painted signs, yet with a modern feel. Additionally, she wanted to include a lotus flower.
I took her wishes into consideration, but felt it important to push the idea further. I wanted to focus on the notion of separate entities coming together to share their varied experiences. Therefore, I came up with this design in which each petal of the flower ventures in its own direction before returning to the center to convene with the rest of the group and become Common Turquoise.
